APGA Fixes Dates For Congresses

The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has written to the Independent National  Electoral Commission, INEC, to intimate it of the party’s primaries for the  selection of its candidates for the 2011 elections.

In a letter jointly signed by its national chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, and the  National Secretary, Sani Abdulahi Shinkafi, the party said, December, 22, 2010 has  been fixed for the ward congresses while the selection of its candidates for the  houses of assembly is slated for January 4, 2011, the House of Representatives fixed  for January 6, 2011 and the senatorial candidates for January 8, 2011.

The selection of its candidates for the governorship is fixed for January 10, 2011  and national convention is slated for January 22, 2011.

The party said that as required by section 85 (1) of the Electoral Act, 2010, the  letter serves as notice and invitation for the INEC to monitor the said primaries.
