Television content producer and clothing line/perfume supplier, Bally Walls Entertainment, has come up with a youth-driven concept dubbed Campus Celebrity Host (CCH) and University of Lagos (UNILAG) has been tipped to host the maiden edition scheduled for Friday, 17 December at the Arts Theatre Auditorium.
According to the CEO, Bally Walls Entertainment, Wale Balogun, a graduate of Theatre Arts from UNILAG, CCH is meant to create a platform for students to meet their preferred celebrities live on campus, especially those who have cut a niche for themselves in different genres of life and those whose lives have positively impacted on the students.
“The idea is to select seven different celebrities with an acceptable and reputable status among students, after which UNILAG students will have the opportunity to vote for the preferred celebrity they wish to host that quarter. The celebrities to be voted for are Terry G, Doris Simeon, Sasha, Ini Edo, DJ Zeez, Pasuma and Funso Adeolu. One of them will be hosted for the night,†he explained, adding that students will vote via a coupon attached to the flier/hand bill of the event, which will be detached and submitted to a particular designation for compilation.
“The fulcrum of the programme is not only to celebrate celebrities from different walks of life, but also to keep the Naija spirit, which is synonymous to courage, harmony, perseverance, focus, determination, creativity and doggedness alive on campus,†he added.
The choice of UNILAG, he said, is a way of paying back to the school that made him.
