Late wife of Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, Clara, may be buried in the governor’s compound at Iyamho Etsako West on Friday, 17 December, 2010.
Sources close to the Governor informed the P.M.NEWS that funeral services will commence on Wednesday, 15 December and end with a thanksgiving service at the Catholic Church along Airport Road, Benin. The invitation cards and posters are said to be in the making.
Sources close to the governor told the P.M.NEWS that it is after the burial that the daughter’s wedding will come up.
Meanwhile, the Edo State Government House has been turned into a sort of Mecca by thousands of sympathisers who thronged the place to sign the condolence register.
Chieftains of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) who visited Oshiomhole include Chief Bisi Akande, Segun Osoba, Niyi Adebayo, Govs. Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Babatunde Fashola (Lagos) and Dele Alake.
Others are Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, former governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan and others.
Those that visited yesterday were Governors Jolly Nyanko of Adamawa, Ikedi Ohakim of Imo, Gbenga Daniel of Ogun, Bukola Saraki of Kwara, Aliyu Babangida of Niger, Danjuma Goje, Gombe, Attahiru Jega, Peter Obi of Anambara, local government caretaker chairmen in Edo State, traditional rulers and religious leaders from far and wide.
