The ambition of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area Football team were dashed on Saturday when they lost 0-3 to Ajeromi/Ifelodun Local Council Development Area Football team in the ongoing Lagos Junior League.
Ajeromi/Ifelodun, who were in the seventh position in Group C gave a good account of themselves as they dominated the encounter watched by an average crowd at the FIFA Legacy Football pitch, National Stadium, Lagos.
Igba Chukwuma opened scoring in the 8th minute, while Sodiq Savage netted a brace in the 40th and 59th minutes to seal victory for Ajeromi Ifelodun.
The Ejigbo team did not give up the match easily, as they fought also took the ball to their opponents, but were unable to hit target.
In another match, group leaders, Ojodu LCDA suffered their first defeat after losing weekend’s match 2-3 to Oshodi at the Campos Square Sports Centre, Lagos Island.
Ojodu’s position is now threatened as teams from Ifako Ijaiye, Onigbongbo LCDA and others close the gap on them.
