The price of bread, one of Nigerians’ staple foods, is to go up anytime from now, so  declared the new President of the Association of Master Bakers and Caterers of  Nigeria, AMBCN,  Prince Jacob Adejorin.

Speaking at the swearing in of new executives of the association in Lagos, Prince  Adejorin, attributed the development to the increase in the prices of other  commodities used in baking bread.

According to Adejorin, millers have increased the price of flour from N4,900 to  N5,600 and bakers will have no choice but to increase the price of bread so that  they will not run out of business.

P.M.NEWS investigation also revealed that the price of sugar, another important  commodity used in the making of bread, has gone up from N7,200 and N8,000 to  N10,100. “The price of flour has gone up and we will have to deliberate on the next  line of action, whether to increase or not, because we cannot run at a loss.
