The people of Morogbo in Olorunda Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have appealed to the state government to provide basic social amenities in the community, alleging that they are totally cut from enjoying dividends of democracy despite their contribution to the development of the state via tax payment.
Speaking through the traditional ruler, Prince Hezekiah Ajayi, said the community is being taken over by flood due to lack of drainage channels, while the roads are deplorable.
This, according to him, have been source of concern to the entire members of the community, adding that the best thing is for the state government to find lasting solution to the problem.
He stressed further that the situation has made it difficult for his people to engage in various commercial activities and that all appeals to the local government over the matter have so far been rebuffed.
He also said that the ancient town with a large population, still lacks visible infrastructure such as potable water, good roads, electricity, primary health centre, schools and community hall, among others.
However, the traditional ruler enjoined his subjects to continue to support the state government by paying their taxes and other levies promptly.
