Falcon House has won the 3rd Inter House Sports Championship of Renics Schools, Gowon Estate, Egbeda, Lagos, Nigeria.
The one-day tourney saw Falcon (Yellow) House winning 47 medals to end in the first position while Eagle (Red) House came second with 44 medals. Crane (Green) House came third with 34 medals, while Bustard (Blue) House was fourth with 33 medals.
Speaking at the event, the Proprietress of the schools, Dr. (Mrs.) Adenike Adeagbo, stressed the need to give sports a pride of place in the school curriculum.
She said: “Education is not restricted to the four corners of the classrooms, hence the need for the students to engage in sporting activities to keep their body and soul healthy.â€
Dr. Adeagbo said the stakeholders in the educational sector should rekindle the latent sports talents in the youths for the country to produce great athletes that will bring glory to Nigeria.
The chairman of the event, Elder Omoboyede, who lit the “Torch of Unity†for the Inter House Sports, commended the athletes for their spirit of sportsmanship.
The colourful event featured high & long jumps, old students, parents and staff races.
