To ensure that the votes of the electorate in Eti Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State count during the coming general elections, the Save Eti Osa Group, SEOG, held a seminar for all residents of the area.
The programme, tagged Making Your Vote Count, according to the group, is to sensitise and educate the residents on the need to ensure their votes count during the coming general election, to enable them elect credible leaders that would bring dividends of democracy to their doorsteps as well as banish poverty and misery from the area.
The event took place at Odofin Agungi Eti Osa, Lagos southwest, Nigeria. Residents of the local government trooped out in their numbers to attend the seminar.
Dignitaries at the event include Ibrahim Odofin, A.K.A Eleshin, Andrew Oretan, Barrister Owolabi Salis, Barrister Akerele Abioye, Comrade Faso and Basirat Jimoh.
Prince Odofin said the seminar is not a politacal rally but to liberate Eti Osa residents from the shackles of autocratic leaders who call themselves progressives but are entrenching missery and poverty in the area.
“The seminar is to educate and sensitise residents not to sell their votes for just N1000 so as not to mortgage their future and the future of their children. It is also to ensure they come out en masse to register when the voter registration begins next month,” Odofin added.
