It was a sad weekend for Mr. Mzenda Iho, a lawmaker representing Kastina Ala/Logo/Ukum Federal Constituency at the lower legislative chamber of the National Assembly, when a car said to be convening his supporters to a political event was involved in a ghastly accident, leaving one person dead and two others severely wounded.
An eye witness, Tavershima Adoor, told P.M.NEWS that the car, a brown coloured Toyota Starlet, was speeding terribly and in the process, lost control and somersaulted three times, pushing off an okada rider out of the road.
One person died on the spot, while another had his face covered with blood and the other who was helped out of the car by sympathisers, was also quickly rushed to the Katsina-Ala General Hospital for treatment.
Adoor, who said the victims were in their late 20s, attributed the accident to excessive consumption of alcohol by the driver.
Efforts to get the lawmaker for his comment on the incident proved abortive as his mobile phone was out of service area.
