The traditional ruler of Shoba town in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, Chief Jimoh Raheem Agbebeji, has cried out to the state Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, over the activities of some youths in the area, whose act of land grabbing, using cudgels and dangerous weapons to intimidate land owners in the community.
Speaking with Lagos Bulletin from his hideout, Agbebeji said for having the temerity to question the delineating and selling of land that falls under government’s acquisition in the area by the rampaging youths resulted to destruction of his palace, leaving in its trail, sorrow, blood and tears.
The monarch added that the youths forcefully demanded for monetary inducement, which they claim was dues for ‘indigenous sons of the soil.’
This, according to him, is not only an embarrassment but has contributed in a drop in the number of prospective investors that were coming to invest their businesses in the community.
The traditional ruler therefore appealed to the Governor, the Commissioner of Police and other security agencies to come to their aid and prevent another round of blood letting in the community.
As at the time of filing this report, the matter is being investigated by Trade Fair Police Station while some arrests have been made.
