The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Alhaji Dikko Inde Abdullahi, has reiterated the readiness of his management team to improve and move the service forward. The Comptroller General who stated this last Tuesday at a stakeholders forum in Apapa noted that the aim of the forum is to position the service to meet its responsibilities at all times.
Represented by the Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Enforcement and Investigation, John Atte, Abdullahi pointed out that although the service is meeting up with its responsibility of generating revenue for the government, there is need for the service to wake up to the challenge posed by modern day Information Communication Technology (ICT).
The challenge, he said, can only be achieved through integrity and the personal push to always do what is right. Abdullahi called on stakeholders, officers and port users to give maximum cooperation and understanding in order to achieve the set goals of the service.
