The Chief Press Secretary of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Lanre Odubote has declared his intention to run for the Lagos House of Assembly in 2011
The veteran broadcaster with the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation, OGBC, between 1976 and 1983 intends to represents Epe Constituency 02 at the Lagos Assembly.
The University of Ibadan Political Science/Economics NCE graduate was a member of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in 1990, a state delegate to the first SDP state convention, Ikorodu in July, 1991 and Lagos State House of Assembly candidate of the same party in December, 4, 1996.
Odubote was also executive member of Mainland Local Government, Yaba between 1992-1993, member/Administrative DPN Ikeja Local Government between 1997-1998, member Alliance for Democracy, AD, 1999, and also member Legislative Summit 2008 (NCSL) New Orleans, USA in 1998.
The Epe-born politician was also AC-member Planning and Strategy Committee Election 2007, delegate Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, CAP, Arusha, Tanzania 2009, and member legislative summit 2010 NCSL, Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
Speaking on his four cardinal programmes, he said through legislation, he will ensure that the Assembly revolutionize agriculture, through mechanised farming and large scale fish production.
He said he will ensure the opening of Epe Division for industrial growth by supporting government programmes through legislation on concessioning of roads, electricity supply, construction of the 5th and 6th Mainland bridges on Lagos Lagoon from Ajah, Sangotedo, and Ikosi down to Emina.
He added that he will support legislation on press freedom to eliminate corruption in the society.
