The lawmaker representing Lagos Island Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Olawale Alawiye-King, has expressed sadness over the death of Fuji music king, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, describing it as “unfortunate.â€
In a statement, Alawiye-King described the late musician’s death came as a surprise and shock, saying Alhaji Ayinde Barrister was a towering performer and an exceptional artiste, who, through his creative genius, turned what was a simple religious (were) form into one of the most infectious popular music styles in Nigeria for decades.
“On behalf of myself, my family, the good people of Lagos Island Constituency 1 and Lagos State in general, I commiserate with the family of Alhaji Agba, his God son, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal and the entire Fuji family, while praying Almighty Allah to grant the repose to his soul,†Alawiye-King said in the statement.
