The former Chief of General Staff has enjoined Nigerians to re-dedicate their lives, talents, time and treasures to the service of Christ, the society and the nation.
The retired general said this while speaking with newsmen at the N250 million fund raising for an ultra modern, Cathedral for the United African Methodist Evangelical Church, Abule Oja, Yaba, Lagos.
The Balogun of Odogbolu and the Baba Ijo of the Church, while speaking on the need to be a joyful giver, was quick to remind Nigerians on the need to propagate evangelism through such donations.
General Diya spoke on the challenges surmounted in the quest for the meaningful reconstruction of the church, as well as in meeting up with the new millennium’s expectations.
Chief Mrs. Mable Kehinde Komolafe, the Iya Ijo, also speaking at the event, expressed the church’s profound gratitude to the guests and expressed joy over the large turnout of eminent personalities.
