As part of their social responsibilities to the Nigerian society, members of Nigerian Football Supporters Club yesterday donated gift items to the motherless babies home, Heart of Gold in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.
The gift items, which included toiletries and food items were given to the management of the Home, led by Administrative Manager, Mrs. Funke Bankole. Speaking during the visit, the club’s 2nd Vice Chairman, Chief Isaac Ebi Siawe said that a committee for the end of the year activities of the club suggested that the supporters club celebrate with the less privileges as part of the activities to round off the year.
“I want to commend members of the committee for giving us a good suggestion to be part of the life of these abandoned babies. This is not the first time that members of the club will come here,†he said.
Responding, Admin. Manager of the Home, Mrs. Bankole thanked the supporters club for the gift items. “I’m so grateful for what the club did here today.
“I’m particularly touched with these pampers because pampers are part of what we need most here. We thank you for helping us,†she said.
Some members of the club, including the Social Secretary, Mrs Kemi Popoola were in  tears when they saw a three weeks old handsome boy, who was abandoned in a Lagos hospital and being catered for at the Home.
