Motorcycle Operators Association of NURTW (MOALS), Apapa, Lagos branch, had denied involvement in criminal activities as alleged by Apapa GRA Residents Association (AGRA).
The association was reacting to allegation of involvement in criminal activities levelled against its members during a recent protest march against Okada riders, Danfo and Keke Marwa operators in the area
Leaders of the association, Alhaji Kamaru Akinyo and Alhaji Waheed Abiodun a.k.a. Bawahala, said their members are law abiding citizens who have been alleviating the suffering of the people in the area, adding that there is no iota of truth in the allegation.
“Since our existence in 1994, no crime allegation had been levelled against any of our members,†they said.
According to them, MOALS members did not violate the rules and regulations that established the association in Lagos State, saying they are not operating under anybody except government.
The two leaders praised the Apapa Local Government chairman, Mr. Ayodeji Joseph, for maintaining peaceful co-existence among the diverse ethnic groups in the area.
