The Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odolin Local Government Area, Comrade Ayodele Adewale, is expected to draw the curtains on the Amuwo-Odofin Futsal 5-A-Side Championship after two weeks of display of football artistry by participating teams.
The competition, which featured over 45 teams, was held at two different venues: the Prof. Jadesola Akande Playground (suki) and the 401 Road Stone Field but today’s final holds at the Stone Field on 23 Road, Festac.
The chairman disclosed that council decided to support the competition to take the youths in the area and its environs away from drug abuse, armed robbery and other social vices, especially at this yuletide season.
The quarter final matches would be concluded before the finals. However, winners of the maiden edition of the Lagos Street Soccer Champions, 401 Road Planners will trade tackles with BDJH Football Club.
Parapo Football Club will slug it out with 512 Road United Football Club, while BABLO Football Club, winners of the Season Four of the Lagos Street Soccer Champions, will have their hands full against Mancity Football Club. FEYA Football Club will face the Joshua Iweribo led 201/202 Roads United.
Meanwhile, the council has warned the participating teams to play by the rules and regulations of the game, while assuring them of security of lives and properties.
