The Lagos State Football Association, LSFA, has inaugurated an electoral committee for its elections scheduled to hold on Friday, 31 December at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
The General Assembly of the Lagos FA at its meeting yesterday adopted and ratified the statutes, date of the election and names of the electoral committee.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, directed that elections into the boards of all the states Football Associations be held between 30 and 31 December in line with the decision of its congress in Makurdi in 2008, which was also re-affirmed during the extraordinary congress held in July this year.
The electoral committee, comprising of Yomi Peters, Segun Babatunde, Niyi Alebiosu, Uthman Ola Okunnu, Alhaji Tijani Azeez and Bolanle Seriki was inaugurated today at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
After yesterday’s congress, Acting Chairman of Lagos FA, Taiwo Afinnih, officially declared his intention to recontest, saying he is ready to take football to the next level in Lagos.
