The people of Ilupeju community in Odi Olowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have called on both the state and local governments to  come to their aid by providing the community with drinkable water.

Speaking on behalf of the community, the traditional ruler, High Chief James Adeboye Olaleye, lauded the state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, for his  wonderful performance in making Lagos a true centre of excellence.

Olaleye stated that the most urgently needed basic amenity to enhance the living standard of the people is water.

He also appealed to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs headed by Mr. Rotimi Agunsoye, to quickly endorse his letter of elevation to  part two status as this, according to him, will make traditional rulers to take part the more in the day-to-day running of the state affairs apart from  making life better for them.

While appealing to his subjects to continue to pay their taxes promptly, the monarch added that his community would continue to support both the local and  state governments to attain greater heights.
