After a long wait the body of Fuji Creator, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Ololade Adeyimika Balogun aka Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister (Mr. Fuji) was finally interred last night at his residence, Fuji Chamber on Lawani Street, Isolo, Lagos State, South-West Nigeria.

Before the burial of the corpse packed in a brown makeshift casket which arrived the Fuji Chamber at about 9.44pm family members , top musicians, and fans initially heaved a sigh of relief after waiting for days for the corpse to be brought back from London where Barrister died two weeks ago.

However, emotions were soon let loose, giving way to wailing and chanting of suratul fatia (laila ilalau) by Muslim faithful.

Investigations revealed that there was an initial disagreement among the family members led by Barrister’s first son Rasaq Balogun a.k.a Oloriebi whether Barrister should be buried yesterday night or not. But after the intervention of Fuji King, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, it was agreed that the body be interred immediately as people had waited long enough

At about   10.05 pm Islamic clerics led by a senior Imam conducted the Jannazar, the obligatory Islamic prayers for the dead inside Barrister’s compound.

The body was later moved into his sitting room downstairs where he was interred immediately according to Islamic rites.  The corpse was wrapped in a white cloth only when it was being lowered into the final resting place.

Before the grave was covered with sand, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi led top musicians namely PMAN President Admiral Dele Abiodun, his secretary, Idowu Blessing  Akineyin, Champion Kunle Opio, Sunny Wonder, Kollington Ayinla, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Aare Shina Akanni, Abass Akande Obesere, Saheed Osupa, Iyanda Sawaba, Remi Aluko, Safejo Amama, Segun Adewale, Salawa Abeni and  accompanied by Alhaji Ambali Adetunji, Joseph  Afolabi of Ogo-Oluwakitan fame and others to pay their last respects  to the man popularly referred to as Mr. Fuji.

Before the burial friends and fans started arriving Fuji Chambers as early as 7.00am yesterday. They waited patiently for several hours and they were entertained by top stars like Salawa Abeni, Barrister’s band members, Ajobiewe, Fuji Garbage girl, Tessy Yembra and others. They did not leave until the burial was over late in the night.
