8 Arrested Over Baale’s Murder

The police in Ogun State have arrested eight persons in connection with the killing of Chief Waidi Mustapha, 50, the Baale of Amuwa Village in Ado Odo-Ota Local Government Area, Ogun State.
The suspects currently being quizzed by the police include Chief Idowu Hopo-Jideme, Afolabi Hopo Samson Abisoye, Chief Joshua D. Kurunyo, Donfosun Kurunyo, Sewanu Vittu, Peter Nutayi and Chief Ade Leke J. Jisu.
According to Chief B. A. Adekunle, the late Waidi Mustapha, who was also a farmer, reportedly had an appointment with one of his customers called Iya Kafaya when he was ambushed and killed.
He said the deceased had reported to his family and kinsmen that some unidentified persons were monitoring his movement and that his life was in danger.
“The late Waidi Mustapha informed us his kinsmen that some people were threatening his life. The matter was reported at the Agbara Police Division but on the following day, he was killed,†Adekunke said.
He appealed to the police and the authorities to ensure that justice was done in the matter.
The deceased was survived by two wives and many children.
