INEC Set For Delta Election Rerun

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said it is fully prepared for the Delta State governorship rerun election slated for Thursday.
Election materials are being distributed to all the local government areas of the state to facilitate a hitch free election.
Fourteen political parties are contesting the election. They are Accord Party, represented by Peter Oghenevwoghaghan, the Alliance for Democratic Congress, ADC, represented by a female candidate, Mrs. Ngozi Ogbogo and the All Nigerian People’s Party, ANPP represented by Chief Veronica Banuzu-Mutu.
Other candidates are Chief Ontpite Ogbe of CP;Â Dr. Emmanuel O. Marfiana of Democratic Party Alliance, DPA; Mr. Great Ogboru of the Democratic People Party, DPP and Jonah D. Chukwuemeka, representing the Justice Party, JP.
Abel Omamomo Egijala is contesting on the platform of the Labour Party, Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy, MRDD, fields Johnson Ajeboguku, Natonal Movement for Democratic Party, NMDP,’s candidate is Okeya Ojamovo Edwin while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, still fields the sacked former state governor Emmanuel Uduaghan as its candidate.
Progressive People’s Alliance, PPA, presents Taju Sonumoru Isichei while Igbinire Odafe and Barrister Ovie Augustine Omo-Agege run on the platform of Peoples Redemption Party, PRP and RPN respectively
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Dr. Ogudu Gabriel Ada, in a statement said the listed candidates have been given the go ahead to contest the rerun election by INEC.
Meanwhile, the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan,was in Delta State today for the final round of campaign in support of the PDP candidate, Dr. Uduaghan.
