Minister Visits Bomb Victims
The Minister of State for Health, Alhaji Suleiman Bello has assured that the Federal Government will pay for the treatment and care of victims of the recent bomb explosion in Abuja.
Bello gave the assurance in Abuja on Monday when he visited the Asokoro General Hospital to give words of encouragement to the victims.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the blast occurred on the eve of the New Year and left four persons dead and 15 others seriously injured.
The Minister of State described the incident as unfortunate.
“Nigeria is moving forward and nobody will bring it backwards.
“President Goodluck Jonathan will continue to support all the victims; we will make sure that nobody is left unattended to,†he said.
Bello said Jonathan’s government was determined to take the nation to an enviable position in the comity of nations.
The Chairman of Asokoro General Hospital, Dr. Olugbenga Bello, told the minister that the survivors were in stable condition.
“The president had visited us, ditto the minister. They have given us the go ahead to give the patients all necessary care and support,†he said.
