Papa Enahoro For Burial 29 January

Elder statesman, Pa Anthony Enahoro will be buried at Uromi, Edo State, South-South Nigeria on Saturday, 29 January, 2011.
Enahoro died on 15 December, 2010 after protracted illness at the age of 87.
One of his associates, Alfred Ilere confirmed to PM NEWS that it had been settled that Enahoro would be buried at Uromi on 29 January and that a burial committee had been set up to fine-tune arrangements for the final home going of the elder statesman.
Ilere said the burial committee is headed by Enahoro’s son, Eugene.
According to him, the paper work of the programme for the final burial was ready, only awaiting fine-tuning.
In the programme of activities, PM NEWS gathered that the final home journey of Enahoro would begin in Lagos State, South West Nigeria on 25 January as the Lagos State Government would organise a day of tribute for the deceased.
This will be followed by parliamentary sitting at the Parliament building in Ibadan, Oyo State where Enahoro moved the popular motion for self determination for Nigeria in 1953 and where he began his politics.
National Publicity Secretary, Pro-National Conference of Nigeria, PRONACO, Mr. Wale Okunniyi said that Enahoro’s associates, human rights groups and others would gather at the Parliamentary building on 26 January to pay their last respects to the late political icon.
The Edo State government will take its turn on 27 January by hosting a special programme to honour Enahoro before his burial.
The wake-keep, we gathered, will take place on 28 January in Benin before his interment on 29 January.
