Ahead National Amateur League: Larry Employ Ex-Gateway Coach

As part of their buildup ahead of the National Amateur 11, Larry Football Club of Agege have employed former assistant coach of Gateway FC, Rahman Bello, as  Chief Coach of the club.

Bello, whose appointment took effect on 4 January is expected to use his wealth of experience to help Larry FC gain promotion to the National Amateur I at  the end of the season.

Addressing the players after a training session on Tuesday at the Gowon Estate Playground, Egbeda, Bello, who was once a chief coach of Ebedie FC, charged  the players to be disciplined and be committed to the club.

“I’m quite impressed with what I saw today (Tuesday) in the team. The players really gave a good account of themselves. My advice for them is to take this  screening exercise seriously because we will still shotrtlist some players at the end of the day,” Bello said.

The dark-skinned coach said there is a lot of work to be done to make the club a formidable one. He said the players should always be at their best form and  remain focused in their game.

“Larry FC are  newcomers  in the Amateur 11 League and it is left for  the players to give  their best in all the matches. By doing this, they may get offers  from top professional clubs which will be a thing of joy for the management,” he said.

In his own remarks, assistant coach, Seyi Abidemi, urged the players to be punctual throughout the screening exercise. He  said  any player that comes late  will be punished accordingly.

The club chairman, Lanre Sanyaolu, said he will continue to motivate the team  to do well this season.
