‘Ocean Boys Won’t Go Down’

Ocean Boys midfielder, Felix Benjamin is confident his side will avoid the drop this season. The Yenagoa based Nigeria Premier League, NPL side climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time this season after a 2-0 win against newly promoted Crown at the Samson Siasia Stadium on Saturday.

Ocean Boys, 15th on the log, now have 11 points from 10 games but look nervously over their shoulder at the chasing pack that includes Niger Tornadoes, Crown, Zamfara United and JUTH FC and Plateau United.

Consistent good results must now be achieved by Ocean Boys, according to Benjamin as they continue their push towards the safer reaches of the table.

“I am happy that we defeated Crown. It was not an easy match but we played well and now we have to make sure that we continue to win our games,” Benjamin told SuperSport.com.

The 18 year old also spoke on the recent calamity which befell the club. Defender Emma Ogoli slumped and died during a league game while the duo of Emma Akabogu and Osprino Egbe went into a coma after a horrific car crash in Yenagoa.

“Yes, we have suffered a lot recently but we have decided to move on with our lives. We have to keep marching on and do our best for our fans,” he said.

Ocean Boys only leapt off the relegation zone for the first time this season after their victory against Crown.
