The Super Eagles are sweating it out to impress their Chief Coach, Samson Siasia, as the country prepare for the international invitational championship tagged; the Obama Cup in the US.
Siasia has told the Eagles, who were invited from the Nigeria Premier League, NPL, that nobody will be given an automatic shirt to play in his team. This has sent a signal to the players in camp that they would face real battle to get a shirt to play in the team.
The camp came alive yesterday after striker, Gbolahan Salami, star of last yearâ€
The competition is in honour of United States’ President Barack Obama and it will take place at the Cotton Bowl, Dallas, Texas venue of Nigeriaâ€
Enugu Rangersâ€
Head coach Samson Siasia conducted his second training programme with the players yesterday evening at the artificial turf of the FIFA Technical Centre, and minced no words in telling the players that they have to imbibe the character and attitude of senior team players.
“I feel satisfied with the response of the players two days after the camp was opened,†Siasia told supersport.com.
“Though the first day was not too impressive, I want to believe that with all the invited players in camp, we will have a full training session and be able to pick a strong team for the championship in the US as well as other games ahead,†he said.
