A 35-year old man, Lukman Adeyanju has been arrested by the police in Igando, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, for allegedly using a cutlass to cut his mother, Kehinde on the neck while she was sleeping. It was alleged that he attempted to kill her in order to inherit his late father’s property .

The father of three kids was alleged to have attacked his mother after he had repeatedly demanded for documents of the house at 12 Monsuru Makinde Street, Lanre, bus stop Igando, which the mother refused to oblige him.

P.M.NEWS gathered from the victim that Lukman asked her to release the documents of the house to him because he was the first child in the family and it was his right since their father was dead.

She claimed that he wanted to sell the house while she was still alive even though he is not the only child in the family.

Her refusal to grant his request angered him and he reportedly took a cutlass and forced himself unto her room and macheted her several times before neighbours who heard her crying went in and rescued her and rushed her to a hospital.

Lukman’s attempt to escape was frustrated by neighbours who held him and beat him thoroughly before handing him over to the police.
