Voter Registration: Lg Engages Town Criers

Kware Local Government in Sokoto State has engaged the services of town criers to sensitise the people on the need to register in the ongoing voter registration exercise.
Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru, the Chairman of the council, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kware on Tuesday that the measure was part of the strategies adopted to ensure that all eligible voters acquired a card.
He said that it was only by acquiring a voter’s card that credible leaders would emerge, adding that the local council administration would do everything possible to make sure all eligible voters registered.
Kabiru called on INEC to provide generating sets for registration officers posted to the rural areas.
He explained that it was only by so doing that all eligible voters would participate in the exercise.
The chairman called for more support from stakeholders in the area for a successful exercise.
