2011: Why Jonathan Met PDP Chiefs
Facts have emerged on why President Goodluck Jonathan visited Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chiefs in Lagos on Tuesday.
The purpose of the meeting, P.M.NEWS reliably gathered, was basically to plan how the party would ‘capture’ the state in the forthcoming general elections.
PDP Lagos West Senatorial District candidate, Hon. Moshood Adegoke Salvador, who declined to give details of the meeting, said that the meeting with Mr. President was fruitful.
Speaking with P.M.NEWS shortly after he took part in the voter registration exercise at ward c, Adegboyega Street, Mushin, Lagos, he said a whole lot of things will work in favour of PDP at the April polls.
When prodded further to give details of what transpired during their meeting with Mr. President, he said: “If something is said to be fantastic, it means that such a thing is very good. Therefore, the meeting we had with him was a good one.â€
He said that the party is fully ready to take over the mantle of leadership from the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, adding that Ade Dosumu, the PDP governorship candidate in Lagos State, might not be an astute politician but he has a whole lot of things working for him.
“Who was Fashola before he became the governor of Lagos State? It is God that ordained and it is Him that arranges things and He has started arranging our victory at the April polls,†he said.
Salvador added that another thing that will work for the PDP is the efforts of their candidates that will complement one another.
He said because Lagos residents are highly enlightened, it would be easy to sway them, adding that Lagosians would not vote for party any longer but the candidates of their choice.
