Fashola Charges INEC To Do More About The On-Going Voters Registration Excercises
Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola on Friday charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to do more about the on-going voters registration.

Governor Fashola who spoke in an interview with Airport Correspondents at the Presidential Lounge of the Local Wing of the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja, added that following daily complaints being received many large areas and densely populated areas of Lagos do not have the direct data capture machines.
He explained that from complaints stridently coming from the people, areas like Mushin, Ikorodu, Alimosho, Ayobo, Ajegunle particularly many of the new estates like Ojokoro and Ifako Ijaiye that are springing up do not have the machines.
Governor Fashola lamented that many places where estates have been built like Ibeju Lekki and so many parts of Lagos have not even been identified for purposes of locating polling units in them.
The governor also queried the kind of data and distribution of polling centres from the last elections now being used to plan the current exercise.
“Is it being suggested that no new settlements have emerged in Lagos in four years? That cannot be the case. We have built several hundreds of housing units and people have moved in. Construction is also going on so we can’t leave those people behindâ€, he noted.
The governor said the government is tabulating and collating all the complaints, revealing that in some places like Coker Aguda, eight machines broke down and have been taken away without being returned.
“In ward D and E in Badagry, they are having problems with 11 machines. The problem is across the state,” the governor said.
