One Year After: Friends, Political Associates Celebrate Dipo Dina
Dina Memorial Anglican Church, Igbeba Ijebu-Ode was this morning filled to capacity as family, friends and political associates gathered for the remembrance service in honour of slain Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, chieftain, Chief Adedipupo Akanni Dina. He was murderedon 25 January, 2010 by unidentified gunmen.
The one-year remembrance programme was attended by groups including, Dipo Dina Foundation, ACN Youth Wing in all the local governments in Ogun State, Alapo Ekun family, students of the school for the Deaf and Dumb, Ijebu Ode and Egbe Bobagunte Okunrin Akile Ijebu.
Speaking with P.M.NEWS, Mr. Yomi Obanta, one of the late Dipo Dina’s allies, said they were not mourning but celebrating the deceased.
He said the one year remembrance church service had shown that the late Dina was a voice of the people, a man of the masses and a friend of the state and Nigeria.
The interdenominational service was organised by churches in Ijebu division.
Otunba Dipo Dina, the AC N governorship candidate in the 2007 election in Ogun State was felled by the bullets of yet to be identified assassins along Sango-Idiroko road in Ogun State.
One year after, nothing significant has come out of police investigation into the gruesome murder of Dina.
