The police in Yobe on Tuesday arrested two NYSC members serving as registration  officers in the state over an alleged disappearance of a DDC machine in their  custody.

Adam Ali, Yobe Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the arrest of the  corps members to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu on Tuesday.

Ali, who declined to disclose the names of the arrested corps members, said “the  machine has not been recovered and the CID department is still investigating the  matter.”

Mrs Victoria Ango, Yobe NYSC Coordinator, told NAN in a telephone interview that the  corps members had been granted bail but directed to report back to the police on  Thursday.

“NYSC is not against the law from taking its course but, we are equally concerned  about the welfare of the corps members,” Ango said.

NAN learnt that the machine got missing on Monday.

Sadiq Musa,Yobe Resident Electoral Commissioner, said he has yet to receive a formal  report on the incident.

Musa, however, confirmed that one of the DDC machines was vandalized by angry mob in  Potiskum on Monday.

He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise across the state.
