Man In Court For Neglecting Wife
A 60-year-old man, Mustafa Mohammed of Costain Quarters, Kaduna on Thursday, appeared before a Kaduna Sharia Court for neglecting his wife, Ramatu Gambo.
Gambo, 45, told the court that Mohammed had failed to cater for her needs for more than one year.
“He left me without proper care and had deliberately refused to have sex with me for over a year.
“This has forced me to seek for the dissolution of the marriage,†she said.
Reacting to the allegation, Mohammed said he had no objection to Gambo’s request but pleaded with the court for fair hearing.
The Presiding Khadi, Alhaji Usman Ibrahim, said that Islamic law ensures justice and fairness in deciding cases of such nature.
He assured the parties that the court would look into the issue, guided by the provisions of Islamic law.
