‘Xtians Should Not Pay Gate Fees In Churches’
The Special Apostle For Evangelism, C&S Movement Church (Ayo Ni O), Surulere District, Prophet Gabriel Olubunmi Fakeye has described the 20th century Christians as “gullible.”
Commenting on the craze for prosperity by present day Christians when he visited P.M.NEWS on Acme Road to create awareness for the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Church and his 25 years on the pulpit, Fakeye said all the needs of an average Christian are in the Bible.
”Because many Christians cannot look inward, some pastors capitalise on that to exploit them. The new generation churches don’t preach about the kingdom, rather they preach prosperity and you cannot serve God when you are still in the world,’’ he stated.
He said Christians do not need to pay gate fees before worshipping or seeing their pastors, adding “men of God must be accessible at all times.”
Prophet Fakeye disclosed that part of his Church’s plan for the 40th anniversary ”is to build a cathedral ,which will be constructed in Imopa, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressroad; a university; give scholarships to the needy, among other things.
The C&S leader assured that the university will not be expensive like others. ”It will serve the community because some universities serve the church by name but not by purpose,” he added.
Defending the mode of worship at the C&S, he said: ”It is in line with God’s commandment and as laid down by St. Moses Orimolade, the founder of the C&S. Our mode of worship is not secret but open and we don’t practice occultism.”
