Aregbesola Sends List Of LG Caretaker Chairmen To Assembly
Gov. Rauf Aregbesola has forwarded the list of the caretaker chairmen for the 30 Local Government Councils (LGcs) of Osun to the state House of Assembly.

The Director, Press Bureau, Governor’s Office in Osogbo, Mr Semiu Okanlawon who confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, said the council chairmen are to serve for six months.
“The state House of Assembly is expected to begin the screening of the appointees, while those who scaled through will be inaugurated thereafter,†he said.
Already, the state Assembly on Monday began the screening of the nominees.
Mr Adejare Bello, Speaker of the House, whose election was nullified by a tribunal in Osogbo on Saturday, confirmed the receipt of the list while addressing the lawmakers.
The House, thereafter, began screening the nominees, with those of two Local Government Councils being screened before the close of session on Monday.
The councils are those of Egbedore and Irepodun Local Government Areas (LGAs), having as chairmen-designate, Mr Ibrahim Akande and Mr Adekunle Adegbite, respectively.
NAN recalls that a court had on Dec. 17 sacked the former council chairmen under ousted Gov. Olagunsoye Oyinlola, following the assumption of office by Aregbesola on Nov. 26, 2010.
