Jos Crisis: ‘Jonathan Is Too Weak’

Following the inability of President Goodluck Jonathan to act swiftly to contain the crisis rocking Jos, Plateau State, Northern Nigeria, a cleric has urged the president to brace up.

The General Superintendent, Christ Redemption Bible Church, Pastor John Ogundare dropped this bombshell on Monday while briefing newsmen on the church’s forthcoming Special Interdenominational Anointing Service on 6 February, 2010.

According to Ogundare, “our president should buckle up. Our president is completely weak. People are taking up arms daily and killing innocent people without the president doing anything about it.

“If the government of Lagos State had not resolved to nail the issue of robbery, where will things have been now? Jonathan should rise up, he is too weak. Our nation is a complex one; he must get up now before things get out of hand. The security issue must be his number one priority.”

“What is happening in Jos is not ordinary; there are people behind it. They want to turn Plateau State into a Muslim State,” he said, while appealing to Christians not to carry arms to fight the invaders.
