Lagos Mainland Residents Support Reps Candidate
The people of Lagos Mainland Local Government Area of Lagos State have shown support to the candidate who will represent the area in the House of Representatives in the next political dispensation, Mr. Monsuru Alao Owolabi a.k.a. BATOLA.
This was during a public lecture organised by the Mainland Independent Group (MIG), to sensitise the people of the area on the importance of electoral process.
The forum, which was facilitated by the patron of the group, Mr. Tunji Bello, Managing Director, Lagos State Advertising and Signage Agency, was attended by prominent Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) chieftains in the area.
Delivering a goodwill address on behalf of the patron, Chairman of the group, Kayode Aransiola, charged the people of the area to register en masse to enable them to vote for the candidates of their choice in the forthcoming general elections.
Other speakers at the ceremony included Otunba Tayo Oyemade, former Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, another former chairman of the council area, Engr. Rasheed Adebola Shabi, who emphasised the importance of voting for continuity and sustainable quality governance.
The guest speakers underscored the dividends derivable from registering by voters, adding that it is a veritable weapon to checkmate bad governance and enthrone people-friendly government.
The event was also attended by Dr. (Mrs.) Tokunbo Oluwole, Chairman, Gbagada General Hospital Board; Mr. Tunde Okusanya, Chief Murtala Oloko, Baale of Iwaya and his chiefs, Mr. Bosun Agoro and Dapo Bode-Thomas, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on KAI, among others.
