“Pipeline Vandals In For A Hard Time”

Mr. Desmond Agu, the Plateau Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has warned petroleum products vandals to steer clear of Plateau.

He said the warning was imperative because the command would surely arrest anyone involved.

“My men are ready to deal with any vandal and I will advise anyone seeking to operate in Plateau to have a second thought,” Agu told the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Jos on Tuesday.

He said that the activities of vandals had reduced to the “barest minimum” in Plateau and attributed this to hard work by his men.

Agu said that the command had checkmated black marketeering by making the illegal activities unattractive in the state.

“We have been able to mitigate the activities of vandals who were responsible for artificial fuel scarcity in the state in the past.

“Many of the suspects have been arrested in the past few months. Currently, six are being interrogated, while two have been released on bail.

“We are not going to relent in our efforts in bringing to book all the vandals and in ensuring that we chase them completely out of the state,” he said.
