Alao-Akala Appoints Journalist, 13 Others As Permanent Secretaries
Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State on Wednesday named Mrs. Amoke Dahunsi, a journalist, and three teachers among 14 newly appointed permanent secretaries in the state.
Dahunsi, who was the Director of Information in Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, was appointed with Mr. Akintunde Olaniyi, Mr. Lateef Giwa and Mr. Jimoh Atanda, all teachers, to the position.
The teachers were appointed Permanent Secretaries for School Administration.
Others appointed to the post are Mrs Agbola Olofin, Mrs Risikat Sale, Dr Yekin Lawal, Mr Babalola Sunday, Mrs Moyosore Ajani, Mrs Kehinde Akintunde, Mrs. Olanike Sueba, Mr. Adegoke Adeyemi, Dr. Olubunmi Babalola and Mrs. Omolola Gbenle.
Alao-Akala warned that his administration would not tolerate acts of mediocrity, divided loyalty, indolence and partisanship among civil servants.
“The path of honour for any recalcitrant worker who is addicted to any of these unethical attitudes is to take a bow out of the service, “ he warned.
The governor enjoined permanent secretaries to be diligent in their duties by ensuring effective and prompt delivery of services.
“The present administration in the state demands your cooperation for full implementation of its 13-point agenda tailored towards the delivery of democratic dividends to all citizens of Oyo State,“ he said.
The governor said the government would continue to train and re-train all categories of officers in order to keep them abreast of modern developments and best practices in the public service.
Alao-Akala, however, advised the new permanent secretaries to be loyal to the government and dedicated to duty and see their political heads as partners in progress and not as rivals.
