A Peoples Democratic Party former presidential aspirant, Dr. (Mrs.) Sarah Jubril, who scored a single vote at the partyâ€
Speaking with journalists at the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja, Mrs. Jubril explained that she is in court against the emergence of ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the consensus candidate of the North on the platform of Mallam Adamu Ciroma-led Northern Political Leaders Forum and not against the emergence of President Goodluck Jonathan as the partyâ€
She stated that an unnamed Kaduna state based newspaper had reported that she had taken PDP to court over Jonathan and denied ever suing her party or President Goodluck Jonathan at any time over the last primary
Jubril explained that she went to court to challenge the emergence of Atiku as a Northern presidential candidate by NPLF because the policy that led to the endorsement was discriminatory against her and the womenfolk.
According to her, as a northerner and presidential aspirant, she was not screened by the Adamu Ciroma- led group before arriving at the consensus arrangement added that her not being considered by the forum was discriminatory and contravenes treaties which recognize womenfolk and their inalienable rights to political aspirations and stressed that the case would be pursued to a logical conclusion.
On her one vote outing at the partyâ€
She blamed her defeat on the National Council of Women Society, Ministry of Women Affairs and PDP Women leaders, despite periodic visits and campaigns who could not see the import of using the votes of women for a bargaining power, but expressed optimism that she would remain in PDP despite all odds.
