Ikorodu West secured their twelfth win in a row midweek as they overcame hard fighting Kosofe FC in a highly competitive encounter played at the FIFA Legacy pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos Nigeria.
The Ikorodu side lived up to expectations as they outplayed their opponents in the tough battle. Niyi Odunlade scored the opening goal in the 14th minute to silence the fans of Kosofe.
Both teams lose several chances in the encounter watched by scanty crowd.Kosofe defenders were at their best as they kept their opponents at bay before the first half ended.
The hope of Kosofe to get equalizer in the second half was dashed as James Micheal of Ikorodu West scored the second goal to confirm their supremacy over their opponents.
The effort of Kosofe to reduce the tally could not materialize before the centre referee blew the final whistle as their opponents. Ikorodu West remain on top of the group D table.
