PDP Has No Chance In Lagos – Ajomale
Chairman, Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Lagos chapter, Chief Henry Ajomale has told the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to forget about capturing Lagos. He said the party stands no chance against the ACN.
Ajomale assured that the ACN would sweep Lagos State at the April polls, adding that his party was not disturbed by the boasting by PDP officials to capture the state.
“There is no doubt that we will sweep Lagos State. We have fulfilled the promises made to the people. In 2003, the PDP boasted that they would capture Lagos. Even Obasanjo went to campaign in Alimosho.
“Our confidence is that we have fulfilled our promises. They should forget about Lagos State. Lagos is untouchable. They don’t have anything to do here,†he said.
Ajomale also confirmed that the name of the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, WAPA, Mrs. Victoria Orelope-Adefulire, has been sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as Governor Babatunde Fashola’s running mate at the April governorship election.
According to him, Orelope-Adefulire’s inclusion in the ticket will not jeopardise the chances of the party because “she is a grassroots woman and an achiever who has been in government in the last eight years.
“We see her as an asset to Lagosians. She was appointed because she is a grassroots woman. Many women are interested in her. You cannot rule out the impact of our women,†he stated.
