Lagos MOPOL Deployed To Jos, Borno
Mobile Police officers (MOPOL) serving in Lagos have been ordered to relocate to Jos and Borno State following the Boko Haram crises that are threatening to tear the north apart.
The officers from MOPOL 21 and 22 squad, our checks revealed were ordered Monday by the new Lagos police commissioner, Yakubu Alkali to relocate to the north via Abuja, where Hafiz Ringim, the Inspector General of Police, is expected to brief them on the role they are expected to play on arrival in the north.
Sources said that as early as 8am last Monday, the officers from the squad boarded a bus stationed at their base at the Police Public Relations Office in Oduduwa, Ikeja, Lagos to begin their journey.
A senior police officer in Abuja told our reporter on phone that the officers are expected to work closely with other security agents in the north in order to crush the Islamic fundamentalists.
