We Are Doing Our Best —ICAN President
The President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Major-General Sebastian Owuama, says that his administration of the body has improved its goodwill.
Owuama, who has led ICAN for the past eight months, stated this recently while reappraising his efforts at lifting the accounting body beyond the status he met it.
The ICAN President said, “the Council has continued to encourage the various districts to organise zonal conferences for the benefit of members who could not attend the National Annual Acountants’ Conference in Abuja.
“In order to cater to the welfare of members in Ikorodu and environs, the Council recently approved the creation of an Ikorodu District Society,†he said.
He added that while the body ensured that professional discipline was practised by its members, it also inducted 1,024 newly qualified men and women into the Association of Accounting Technicians, a scheme under ICAN.
He assured members of his continuous commitment to the ideals of the profession and the institute.
