The Freedom Party of Nigeria (FPN) on Monday in Abuja reversed an earlier decision to take INEC to court over the commission’s refusal to admit its list of candidates for the April general elections.

It will be recalled that INEC had on Jan. 31, stopped collection of list of candidates of some political parties for the general elections on ground of not meeting the deadline for the submission.

Chief Frank Ohwofa, National Chairman of the party, gave the indication in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Ohwofa lauded INEC for accepting its list, expressing satisfaction with the way the commission reversed its earlier decision, which, he claimed, was “unfair to other political parties who even met the deadline”.

The national chairman said that there was no reason to take the commission to court and called on Prof. Attahiru Jega to be more approachable in all dealings in order to avoid being seen as submitting himself to “someone’s scrips”.
