Police Arrest Suspect, Recover Oil Tanker
The Police in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, have arrested a robbery suspect and recovered a tanker filled with petroleum product.
The suspect, Omogbolahan Olabiyi, who resides on 122, Apapa Road, Ebute Metta, with others at large were alleged to have robbed the driver of the tanker marked XR 390 BDG filled with petroleum product under the Iganmu bridge while operating in a Ford pick up van with registration number JS 903 EKY.
The suspect was arrested by policemen from Badia Police Station, Ijora. His colleagues, it was learnt, escaped on sighting the police. The Ford pick-up van and the tanker were also recovered.
Investigations revealed that the suspect had been transferred to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba for further interrogation while efforts are being made to arrest other members of the gang.
