Popular Yoruba actress, Modupe Tomori, otherwise known as Iya Ofili Ganga, is dead.

She died at her Oshogbo residence after complaining of headache on Sunday night.

Former national president of the Association of Theatre Arts Practitioners, ANTP, Prince Jide Kosoko,  confirmed her death, and said that the Osun State chapter of the association will organise an Artiste  Night in honour of the late actress tomorrow.

The middle-aged Iya Ofili will be buried in Oshogbo this Friday.

“Her death is a big loss to the industry. She was one of the most talented actresses that have  contributed immensely to this job in Nigeria. May her soul rest in peace,” Kosoko said.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the late actress was supposed to be in Lagos for the shooting of Funke  Akindele’s Omo Ghetto (Part 2) over the weekend, but could not make it due to her ill-health.

“She told us that she was indisposed, and therefore would not join us on the location immediately. We  never knew she was going to die,” said a source.
