Traders at Kabong satellite market in Plateau, have commended Gov. Jonah Jang for his transparency in the allocation of shops at the market.

Mr. Cyril Obiakor, Chairman Kabong Traders and Marketers Association, gave the commendation in Jos on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The chairman, who expressed satisfaction with the manner the allocation was conducted, said that the Ministry of Commerce and Industries saddled with the responsibility lived up to the expectation of the traders.

“We were involved in the process and we saw all that happened, we are satisfied,” Obiakor said.

He said that the allocation of the stores would alleviate the suffering the traders were encountering as a result of the inferno that consumed the Jos Main Market in 2001.

“Many of the traders were displaying their left over wares on the roadside, but with the completion of the satellite market, the suffering will be reduced,” he said.

Obiakor called on the traders to make the best use of the facilities in the market and ensure that the environment remained clean all the time.

He advised the traders to be security conscious and report any suspicious movement to the association’s office or security agents in the market for prompt action.
