National Amateur League: COD Battle Afijio FC

City of David Football Club of Lagos COD have arrived Oyo Town where they will honour their away-match  against Afijio Football Club of Oyo in the National Amateur II League.

COD defeated Grey Football Club of Oshogbo 1-0 last Saturday at the University of Lagos Sports  Complex.

Sakiru Omobolaji who scored the lone goal against Grey FC in Lagos is expected to increase his goal  scoring. With his  outstanding performance in their last home match, much is expected from  him.

Secretary of the club, Victor Akinmoyo, is confident that his team will pick the points at stake in  Oyo.

“The players are in high spirits and ready to win the away match to push them up on the table. We are  optimistic that with the performance of the team in the last game, we will come out victorious,” he  said.

Chief Coach of the team, Rolanson Odey, said there is no cause for alarm,  adding that  only bad  officiating could stop them from winning the match.

“Our target is to  be promoted to the professional League  next season and the only we can meet our  goal  is to win at least three away matches and all our home matches,” he said.

Odey, therefore, cautioned the players to remain steadfast and approach their game against Afijio with  all seriousness.  He also  charged them to continue to play as  a team.
